WARNING .. beware of misleading eBay sellers .. WARNING Import Communications is the ONLY importer of this model in North America, through written agreement with Qixiang Electronics, manufacturer of the Anytone brand.
I own many Anytone radios and love them all but this tri-band is awesome. The only downside at this point is it is not supported in Chirp so I use the RTsystems software. The build quality is superior over Baofeng and other like brands. I can not recommend this model enough!! If your on FB join this great Anytone group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Anytone/

Great tri-band handheld. Also great customer service. This radio out preforms other tri-band handheld radios and is very easy to program. Compared to the price of a 2m, 70cm and 220 radio this one gives you more bang for your buck. I allowed other hams to use this HT and they were very impressed with excellent results and comments. The transmitting and receive quality is excellent and out preformed other tri-band Hts. Just hope Ed can keep enough in stock because I will be purchasing more from Ed as presents for my friends. 73's KC9YEU David

for the price hard to beat!
I have 4 wouxun KG-UVD1P's that I was generally happy with but wanted to test a few of these to see how they stand up. I am very impressed! they feel much smaller in the hand than the wouxun and of a higher build quality. the menu is more annoying, somehow harder to program but no so bad.
Where these shine is their receive sensitivity, they are far more sensitive than the wouxun or my yaesu vx-8. The only downsides are FHSS that really is not what the manufacture sells it as (I cant get it to work reliably at all not that it really has any use with the limited function it provides) and the shipping cost to canada, adding nearly $40 per radio is a tad crazy considering the cheap cost of shipping other goods to canada from the states.
Great Radio for the $$
I picked up my AT-3318UV E at Dayton Hamvention for a great price. While I am still trying to figure it all out I am loving all the features. Kind of a bummer it is not on Chirp but half the fun is working through all of the goodies.
Best radio in this price range by far!!!
I spent quite a bit of time comparing radios that cost up to over $300 to this radio, and for me, none came close. The Beufengs and Wouxuns feel like play toys compared to this radio. Neither felt nearly as solid, and both had loose batteries compared to the tightness of the 3318's. Even the Kenwood F6A didn't feel as well built or tight as this 3318. Compared to Yaesu, the FT60 was too big and way too heavy! This radio compares most closely with the Yeasu VX6, but the VX6 doesn't have a dual band display and costs $100 more. The advantages of the 3318uve are tx outside of ham bands standard (no mods necessary), bigger battery, scan and talk same time, and cross band repeater. I have also noticed that most of the Yaesu's key printing rubs off. While I don't know for sure yet, it seems like the Anytone keys will last longer. Also, the 3318s seem easier to field program than the FT60 to me. The stock antenna is great, and seems to perform almost as good as other after market models in actual use. The factory programming software and cable are ok, but the RT Systems is way better! The only reason realistically for going with a vx6 is if you want to use your tx radio to scan (rx only) 521-998 mhz, but if your primary purpose is tx, then this is the radio for you.
Working With Ed ...
I forgot to add to my last review that working with Ed is great!!! He responds reasonably quickly to emails and goes out of his way to provide excellent customer service!
New HAM and chose this as my first radio and very happy I did. I messed up when programming it and Ed was very quick to respond to my request for help. He is great!
The AT3318UVE is a great radio. Performance on all 3 bands is impressive. I can use the lower power setting and still maintain good radio quality on some repeaters. The radio has some great features allowing different adjustments(some on the fly) for different channels. The stock 1500 mah battery was not sufficient for my needs. The optional 1800mah battery is very long lasting.
Customer Service. Ed is very responsive.
